it is the season for the lavender harvest. if you are able, find a local lavender farm and enjoy the many sensory pleasures that will surround you. if you are unable to do so, peruse online shops or local health food stores and get yourself a bottle of lavender essential oil. everyone and i mean everyone, should own lavender essential oil! its uses are endless! apart from the obvious calming aroma, there are many other ways this inexpensive, little oily wonder can simply and effectively improve your life. i just love lavender!

uses :

* add a few drops to any lotion for a relaxing scent all day

* add to spf for a chemical free bug and tic repellent

* add dried lavender or oil to baths for moisture and relaxation

* add oil to pillow case for a sleep time aid

* add to diffuser for an air freshener

* add to a spay bottle with distilled water for a room spray, linen spray or body splash,

* add it to natural cleaners, leaves behind a nice scent

* small drop on acne, bug bites and open cuts as an antiseptic

* add to coconut oil or almond oil for massage or a moisturizer

* add to homemade soaps and candles

* mix dried rice and dried lavender in a sealed cloth pouch and microwave then apply to sore muscles

* and of course there are the good old satchets of dried lavender for closet and drawers
