focal point - picture of the week

welcome to the third installment of picture of the week. we are continuing to view the work of one of my favorite(but sadly not very well known) photographer; vivian maier. each piece is unique and when looked at more closely, well let's just say there is more than meets the eye.

this photo really catches the eye. these two adventure boys about town are held captive by vivian and her picture taking. she clearly has caught both their attention, especially that of the younger mousketeer. he seems to have stopped in his tracks and perhaps stopped eating the little morsel he clasps in his fingers. the elder boy seems to be in protective mode. even though he is slightly amused he maintains an inquisitive and concerned look. his costume of choice is much more mature and heroic. he's a cowboy! where were they going? what were they doing? what did vivian say to them? whatever the answers, we can see why she stopped to take the picture of these to adorable little chaps!
